Lost Lyrics is a German punk rock band from Wolfhagen in Hesse . The trio, founded in 1990, plays melodic punk rock with German lyrics.

history

After two demo tapes , the band's first vinyl EP was released in 1991: Days of Joy . After two albums recorded as a quartet and a label change from Nasty Vinyl to Hulk Räckorz , the 1996 album Rotzlöffel marks the biggest turning point in the band's history. Since then, Lost Lyrics has been on the road as a trio . The texts are almost exclusively German. Another trademark: on every album you can hear a guest singer from a German punk rock band. The style of the Lost Lyrics has hardly changed since then.

In 2009 the Japanese label SP Records released the first Lost Lyrics album as a re-issue for the Japanese market. In 2011 the 20th anniversary was celebrated with an anniversary concert in Kassel. A download EP with four songs was released for the occasion. The title refers to the age of the tape: The roaring Twenties . In 2014 the album Digiphobie was released as a vinyl LP.

The song "Hessen Nord" is regularly played before the home games of KSV Hessen Kassel in the Auestadion .

The Lost Lyrics themselves describe their music as "brisk, melodic, German-speaking punk rock that has always avoided the classic herb punk ". They see their roots in English and especially American punk rock bands. Lyrically they mix committed, socially critical and personal statements. They are still touring all over Germany and neighboring countries, playing in small clubs as well as at festivals such as Force Attack (2011).
