Force Attack was an annual music festival held near Rostock on the last weekend in July . Lots of punk , ska , oi! -, Hardcore -, Psychobilly bands appeared on three days (from Friday to Sunday) on a main stage and a tent stage.

The festival was considered the biggest punk party in the world. According to the organizers, the number of visitors in 2009 was around 8,000.

history

The first Force Attack Festivals took place in 1997 in Barth and in 1998 in Rerik . At that time there were still 26 bands that provided entertainment on two stages for two days. From 1999 to 2008, Behnkenhagen , northeast of Rostock, was the venue. As early as 2000, the festival was extended to three days and the number of bands increased accordingly. Since then, the festival has regularly attracted thousands of visitors. From 2009 the festival took place in Klingendorf , south of Rostock . Due to heavy rainfall, the 2011 festival attracted few visitors. In 2012 the area in Klingendorf was no longer available and a replacement area for the festival was sought. After several cancellations, including by the Arena Berlin , the festival was supposed to be a replacement event, declared as a soli party, on the tank house site in Stavenhagen . This was initially forbidden by the city by means of a prohibition order, but finally allowed under certain conditions. In 2013, the festival was banned months in advance by the city of Stavenhagen. An attempt was made to find an alternative location, but it was unsuccessful.
