Lothar Barthel

Lothar Barthel (born June 28, 1937 in Kirchworbis ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

education and profession

After attending the extended secondary school , Barthel studied law and economics at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg and at the Humboldt University in Berlin until 1963 . As a qualified lawyer , he was legal counsel and head of the legal department at VEB Elektronik Gera until 1990 . From July 1990 to 2002 he was an independent lawyer in Gera , from 2001 in Leinefelde .

politics

Barthel had been a member of the GDR CDU since 1977 and before 1989 was a member of the CDU district executive in Gera and the CDU party executive.

In March 1990 Barthel was elected to the People's Chamber in the Gera constituency for the CDU . In October 1990 he was one of the 144 MPs sent to the Bundestag by the People's Chamber . He was a member of the Bundestag until December 1990.
