Lothar Bretterbauer

Lothar Bretterbauer (born May 3, 1953 in Lübben (Spreewald) ) is a German local politician (1982–1990 DBD , CDU since 1991 ). He was mayor of Lübben from 1990 to 2014 .

life and work

Lothar Bretterbauer was born as the son of Leopold and Edeltraud Bretterbauer. He attended the polytechnic high school in his hometown from 1959 to 1969. He then completed vocational training with a high school diploma in Finsterwalde from 1969 to 1972 and, after 18 months of basic military service (1972-74), studied at the Leipzig Graduate School . In 1978 he graduated with a degree in economics. He was employed as an economist at the retail chain Konsum and was chief accountant in the agricultural production cooperative (LPG) in Straupitz from 1983 to 1986 . From 1986 to 1990 he was councilor for environmental protection, water and energy at the council of the city of Lübben. In 1990 he was elected mayor of his hometown and confirmed in 1993, 2002 and 2010. At the end of August 2014, he was retired for health reasons.

Bretterbauer is widowed and has three children. His hobbies are aquaristics , music, Bible films and ancient scriptures.
