Lothar Carl Freiherr von Schrottenberg (* 1708 ; † 1759 ) from the noble family Schrottenberg was a civil servant in the bishopric of Bamberg .

Life

Von Schrottenberg was the son of General Otto Philipp von Schrottenberg (1681–1738) from Bamberg and his wife Anna Katharina Sophia, born von Heuslein von Eisenheim. In 1725 his uncle Philipp Dietrich von Schrottenberg (1675–1725) died and Lothar Carl became heir of the family affide commission Reichmannsdorf with the castle and the places Untermelsendorf , Obermelsendorf and Eckersbach . He also inherited the office of senior bailiff in the Lichtenfels office from his uncle. Since Lothar Carl was still a minor, his father Otto Philipp managed his property as a guardian and the senior office as an official administrator.

In 1733 Lothar Carl personally took over the office of senior bailiff in the Lichtenfels office and remained in this office until his death. After his death, the senior office, which had been administered in the Schrottenberg family since 1670, was assigned outside the family. Lothar Carl had died without any male offspring, his brother Carl Dietrich Emmeran (1716–1758) had died a year before him and his son Franz Konrad von Schrottenberg (1755–1829) was only four years old. Franz Konrad was appointed senior bailiff in Burgebrach in 1790 and court marshal in 1802.
