Lothar Fischer (art historian)

Lothar Paul Bernhard Fischer (* 1932 in Freital ) is a German art historian , writer , journalist and draftsman .

From 1949 Fischer worked as a freelancer for various newspapers and from 1951 worked as an editor in East Berlin . From 1952 to 1956 he was imprisoned as a political prisoner in Bautzen and Waldheim . Fischer began studying art education at the Berlin University of Education in 1958 . In 1962 he continued this as a teaching fellow at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo ( USA ) and graduated in 1964 with a Master of Arts . From 1965 to 1979 he was on the Advisory Board for Fine Arts of the Berlin Senate . Until 1994 he worked as an art teacher in Berlin, after which he worked as a freelance writer.

Lothar Fischer is divorced and lives in Berlin .
