Lothar Koeth

Lothar Köth (born March 10, 1927 - † June 20, 2019 ) was a German ministerial advisor and director of the savings bank.

Career

At the end of the Second World War, Köth was taken prisoner by Russia for two years . He then studied law at the Saarland University , meanwhile Köth was a founding member of the Germania fraternity . From his position as senior ministerial advisor in the Saarland Ministry of Economic Affairs , Köth moved to the board of the Kreissparkasse Saarbrücken in October 1973 , and between September 1984 and his retirement in October 1991 he held the position of deputy chairman of the board.

In 1951, Köth joined the Saar Democratic Party (DPS), which became a state association of the FDP when the Saarland joined the Federal Republic in 1957 . For 42 years he was involved in the party's main state committee and was also chairman of the FDP district association Saarbrücken-Land-Ost for 18 years . At times he sat on the municipal council of his home town Quiigart . In September 2008 Köth was appointed honorary chairman of the Saarbrücken Land district association together with Heinrich Mann .

In January 1976 he was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit . He died at the age of 92.
