Heinrich Mann (politician)
Heinrich Mann (born September 27, 1927 in Jakobsweiler ; † January 14, 2020 ) was a German building contractor and politician of the FDP / DPS . From 1975 to 1990 he was a member of parliament and vice-president of the Saarland state parliament .
Life
After attending grammar school and business school, Mann began an apprenticeship in the building trade, which he completed with the master's examination. In 1952 he founded Heinrich Mann GmbH in Völklingen , a civil engineering company that still exists today.
From 1978 to 2014 Mann was a member of the Rotary Club in Völklingen . In October 1980 he became a founding member of the Club of Sponsors of SV Röchling Völklingen .
Mann was married to Renate, nee Küster, from 1950 until his death. The marriage resulted in two daughters. He found his final resting place in the Ludweiler / Warndt cemetery .
politics
In 1952, Mann joined the then illegal DPS , which later became part of the FDP. Within the party, he held various offices, including as district chairman and in his place of residence in Ludweiler. There he was a member of the municipal council from 1964 to 1969, then the district council of the Saarbrücken district and from 1974 to 1978 the Saarbrücken city council.
In the state elections in 1975 , Mann was elected to the state parliament via the list in the Saarbrücken constituency. In the elections in 1980 and 1985 his mandate was confirmed again on the constituency list. He was a member of the state parliament until 1990. During the entire time he was a member of the state parliament, he held the office of vice-president of the state parliament.
In addition, Mann held other functions in the state parliament: From 1977 to 1985 he was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. He was a member of the mine safety committee and, in 1980, was responsible for the " Warndt mine disaster " investigative committee . From 1982 to 1985 he chaired the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs.
