Lothar Meier

Lothar Meier (born September 25, 1941 in Lugau ) is a German politician ( PDS , today Die Linke ).

Meier attended elementary school in Mittelbach and then did an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for arable and crop production in Wernesgrün . He studied at the technical college for agriculture in Zwickau and acquired the title of state-certified farmer. This was followed by distance learning at the Wilhelm Pieck University of Rostock to obtain a degree in agricultural engineering. Meier was then an agronomist at LPG Renz in Rosien and chairman of LPG Radelübbe . At that time he lived in Viez near Hagenow , later he moved to Radelübbe.

Meier became a member and chairman of the PDS in the Hagenow district in 1990 . In 1990 he was a member of the last people 's chamber in the GDR. In 1991 he moved to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, to which he was a member until 1994. In 2004 he became a member of the Ludwigslust district assembly , a re-election in 2009 failed.
