Lothar Schuster
Lothar Schuster (* 1940 in Berlin ) is a German documentary filmmaker .
life and career
He did an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk , studied advertising and film at the Berlin University of the Arts , with a focus on documentary film, at the German Film and Television Academy . From 1980 to 2002 he was a media professor at the Technical University of Berlin .
The main focus of his documentary work is history and the world of work. Many film projects were realized together with the filmmaker Barbara Kasper .
In 1985 he met the photographer and filmmaker Walter Reuter . In 1991 the documentary Approach: Walter Reuter, photographer and filmmaker in exile in the locations of Berlin, Chicahuaxtla ( Oaxaca ) and Mexico City . Inspired by Walter Reuter, Lothar Schuster shot the film Chicahuaxtla, Views in 1996 ; a film about the Indian tribe of the Triquis , with whom Walter Reuter was friends.
