The Lotto-Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt (short: LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt ) is the lottery company in the country Saxony-Anhalt . The sole shareholder is the state of Saxony-Anhalt, represented by the Ministry of Finance .
The company's organs are the shareholders' meeting, the supervisory board of Lotto-Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt and the management. The advisory board of Lotto-Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt advises the supervisory board on the allocation of lottery funding.
history
LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt was founded on September 26, 1991. The legal basis is the articles of association of the same day in its version dated July 19, 2012. The headquarters of the lottery company is in the state capital Magdeburg . The company trains and has around 100 employees. LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt has been a member of the German Lotto and Totoblock (DLTB) since January 22, 1993 . The company is also a member of the World Lottery Association (WLA) and the European State Lotteries and Toto Association (EL).
tasks
LOTTO Saxony-Anhalt is owned by the State of Saxony-Anhalt. The task of the company is to fulfill the regulatory task of securing a gambling offer by organizing and arranging lotteries and similar game offers such as sports betting (games of chance), which cover the needs of adult Saxon hitchhikers for this leisure activity. Any request to play is waived. LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt sells its products in a maximum of 680 LOTTO sales outlets in Saxony-Anhalt as well as on the web.
Basics
The basis for the organization, implementation and brokering of bets and lotteries by LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt is the Gambling Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and the First State Treaty to amend the State Treaty on Gaming in Germany ( First State Treaty Amendment - First GlüÄndStV) - both published by the Second law amending gaming regulations (Second Law Amendment Act ) of June 25, 2012 (GVBl. LSA 2012, p. 204) as well as the licenses and lottery permits issued by the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt.
The legal basis of all gaming contracts are the conditions of participation.
LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt works with research institutions in the field of addiction prevention and uses their findings. There is also a cooperation agreement with the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) through the DLTB .

Profits
Since 1991 107 lottery players in Saxony-Anhalt became lottery millionaires. The highest profit in the company's history of 45 million euros was achieved on July 6, 2018 by a couple in the south of Saxony-Anhalt at EuroJackpot.
In 2019, LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt achieved 618 prizes from 5,000 euros. The highest win in 2019 went to the Saalekreis, where a lottery player won around 2.4 million euros in LOTTO 6aus49 in August.
Winnings that have not been picked up or requested by lottery players after three years will be replayed in special draws in Saxony-Anhalt.
Lottery Funds
For every euro spent on a LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt product, around 20 cents go to the common good in Saxony-Anhalt.
Of this, around 12.5% are awarded directly by LOTTO Sachsen-Anhalt as lottery funding. This is done on a project-by-project basis at the request of non-profit organizations in Saxony-Anhalt. With the exception of a few lighthouse projects, the highest possible funding for a project is 75,000 euros. In 2019, 375 non-profit projects with approx. Funded 6.35 million euros. Of this, 2.26 million euros went to sport (152 projects), 1.87 million euros to culture (125 projects), approx. 766,000 euros to 37 social projects and around 485,000 euros to 14 environmental projects and 955,000 euros went to church Preservation of monuments (47 projects) provided.
