Louis Belogenis

Louis "Louie" Belogenis is an American free jazz saxophonist .

Belogenis worked with John Zorn , Ikue Mori , Borah Bergman , Sylvie Courvoisier , Hilliard Greene ( Exuberance ), Roberta Piket , Billy Mintz , Eivind Opsvik , Reggie Workman and Harris Eisenstadt . He also worked on recordings by Steve Swell ( Magical Listening Hour ) and Kevin Norton ( Intuitive Structures ) and played in a duo with Rashied Ali ( The Rings of Saturn , 1999). Louie Belogenis appeared several times at the Vision Festival , played in the Knitting Factory and in The Stone ; he co-led Prima Materia and starred in Joe Gallant's Illuminati . The album Unbroken (Tick Tock, 2005) was created in the trio Unbroken with Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz and Kenny Wollesen , in the trio with Sunny Murray and Michael Bisio Tiresias (2008). Belogenis was involved in 18 recording sessions between 1990 and 2009.
