Louis Antoine Carolus (born December 25, 1814 in Antwerp ; † April 12, 1865 there ) was a Belgian genre painter and etcher.
Carolus studied with Jakob Josef Eeckhout and Ferdinand de Braekeleer in Antwerp and from 1831 to 1834 with Eugène Lepoittevin in Paris . From 1835 he worked as a freelance artist in The Hague and from 1836 in Antwerp . He devoted himself to historical genre painting.
