Louis Armand (born August 23, 1854 near Saint-Affrique , † January 22, 1922 in Le Rozier , Lozère department ) was a French cave explorer .

He was a blacksmith in Le Rozier in the Lozère department . Édouard Alfred Martel commissioned him to manufacture some equipment for his cave expeditions nearby. Louis Armand was interested in Martel's work and accompanied him on some exploratory tours. The two became good friends. On September 19, 1897, Louis Armand discovered the Aven Armand karst cave, later named after him , which he explored together with Martel. Armand bought the property with the cave and expanded it for visitors. He was also involved in the expansion of other caves such as the Gouffre de Padirac and the Dargilan cave .

Louis Armand died in early 1922, blind and suffering from a stomach ailment.

In Le Rozier, a memorial was erected in honor of the two speleologists. It was inaugurated on June 11, 1927.
