Louis Evain
Louis Auguste Frédéric Baron Evain (* 1775 in Angers , † 24 May 1852 in Brussels ) was a Belgian politician.
Evain took up French military service in 1792 and became an artillery officer in 1822. He left the service in 1824, but rejoined in August 1830. Towards the end of 1831 he went to Belgium , was there in 1832 a division general, naturalized and was Minister of War from May 20, 1832 to August 19, 1836. Retired in 1848, he died on May 24th, 1852. He made great contributions to the organization of the Belgian army.
