Louis Lavelle

Louis Lavelle (born July 15, 1883 in Saint-Martin-de-Villeréal , Département Lot-et-Garonne; † September 1, 1951 ibid) was a French philosopher who can be attributed to the philosophy of life and existential philosophy .

Lavelle taught at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand and was a professor at the Collège de France . With his personalistic spiritualism he is one of the representatives of the "New Metaphysics". For Lavelle, the human being is connected to the absolute spirit as a creative reality. But he only becomes aware of this in moments when the limits of time are no longer valid.
