Louis Legrand
Louis Legrand (* 1863 in Dijon , † 1951 in Livry-Gargan ), actually Auguste Mathieu , was a French pastel painter, draftsman and printmaker.
Legrand was a student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Dijon, and later with Félicien Rops in Paris . He worked for important illustrated magazines and designed his pastels and etchings, which were often slightly erotic, based on people from all walks of life on Montmartre . Legrand created illustrations for the works of Guy de Maupassant and Paul D'Argens , among others .
