Louis Meyer (politician, 1868)

Louis Meyer (born July 1, 1868 in Walscheid , † April 7, 1939 there ) was a Franco-German politician and member of the Alsace-Lorraine state parliament and the French Chamber of Deputies .

Life

Louis Meyer attended high school in Montigny and in 1893 became the youngest mayor of Lorraine in his home parish. In 1898 he was re-elected, but the election was not confirmed by the government. He then worked as a wine merchant.

From 1909 to 1918 he was a member of the Lorraine district assembly for the center . In 1911 he was elected to the state parliament for the constituency of Pfalzburg-Finstingen-Rixingen, to which he belonged until 1918.

On November 16, 1919 he was elected to the French Chamber for the Union Républicaine Lorraine (URL). He was also re-elected in the election on May 11, 1924. In the 1929 election he was narrowly defeated in the runoff election.
