Louis Nels

Louis Nels (born December 16, 1855 , † November 13, 1910 in Neuerburg ) was a German administrative lawyer and Reich Commissioner for German South West Africa (1890-1891).

Nels attended the lyceum in Metz . He entered the Prussian civil service as a lawyer and was transferred to German South West Africa in 1885. Here he served under Heinrich Ernst Göring in the German colonial government. After Reichskommissar Göring resigned from his post in 1890, Nels was acting Reichskommissar until 1891 until Curt von François took over the post.
