Loreto Church Gutenberg on the Raabklamm
The Roman Catholic Loreto Church Gutenberg an der Raabklamm is a mass chapel of the parish church Gutenberg an der Raabklamm and is located in an elevated position on the road to Gollersattel in the village of Gutenberg an der Raabklamm in the municipality of Gutenberg-Stenzengreith in Styria . The church building is a listed building .
history
The Loreto Church was built in 1691 by Sigmund Stubenberg as a fortified church.
architecture
The church is surrounded by a rectangular courtyard, which is formed by masonry with keyhole slots. In the four beveled corners of the courtyard wall, four initial chapels protrude outwards, each of which has a portal from the courtyard, is covered with shingles, and terminates with shingled onion domes. The complex is located on a rounded railing, so that the main open access in the north-western masonry and a covered exit to the eastern cemetery in the south-eastern masonry is via stairs. To the right of the main access stairs is a war memorial. In the lowest eastern area of the cemetery is a grave area of the noble Stubenberg family with a shingle-roofed niche chapel. The crypt in the basement of the eastern Initienkapelle was closed by the Stubenbergs in 1944 and is now used as a storage room for the cemetery.
The Loreto Church is a rectangular building with a stitch cap vault and a roof turret, which was put on in 1892. Church and initiation chapels are structured on the facade with pilasters and continuous cornices.
Furnishing
The altar with rocaille decoration and painted scenes of the joyous rosary carries a silver tabernacle and candlestick angel and is from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century. Behind it is a Loreto Madonna from 1700. There are three sculptures from around 1500. The bell is from 1747.
