Louis Seguin (writer)

Louis Seguin (born June 18, 1929 in Neuilly-sur-Seine , Hauts-de-Seine department , † January 9, 2008 ) was a French librarian, film critic and writer. A few times he was also active as an actor.

Live and act

In 1952 Seguin founded together with Roger Tailleur (1927–1985) and Michel Perez (1932–1990) the magazine Séquences , which later became part of the film magazine Positif . Between 1953 and 1978 Seguin wrote regularly for the magazine Positif and from 1970 he was also able to publish regularly in La Quinzaine littéraire .

Seguin worked as a librarian in the city library of Metz ( Moselle department ) and later in that of Boulogne-sur-Mer ( Pas-de-Calais department ). He gradually took on various administrative tasks and was retired as conservateur général des bibliothèques .

Seguin was interested in politics and was involved in various projects. On this way he made the acquaintance of Robert Lapoujade through the journalist Jacques-Francis Rolland . As an opponent of the " French doctrine " he was one of the signatories of the 121st manifesto in September 1960 .
