Louis Victor Stegemann

Ludwig Stegemann (born December 27, 1830 in Wittlage , † September 30, 1884 in Bonn ) was a German landowner and member of the Reichstag.

Life

Ludwig Stegemann was the son of the bailiff and Siebenmeiers Ludwig Victor Stegemann and Dorette Clüver. He attended high school in Stade from 1842 to 1850. After graduating from high school, he studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . He became active in Corps Vandalia Heidelberg (1851) and Corps Bremensia Göttingen (1852). He passed the first legal exam in 1854 and worked for two years at local courts. After taking over an inherited larger property, the Siebenmeierhof in Essen , Amt Hoya , he got to know practical farming on some estates. He visited the University of Göttingen again to acquire the necessary knowledge in agriculture and chemistry and to listen to economics lectures. Since 1859, Stegemann has been managing his property in Essen and Renzelfelde, which has been expanded through acquisitions . Stegemann married Adelaide Reinbold in 1864 . The marriage resulted in two sons and two daughters.

From 1878 to 1881 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the National Liberal Party and the constituency of Hanover 6 (Hoya, Verden ).
