Louise Carton (born April 26, 1994 in Ostend ) is a Belgian athlete who competes in medium and long-distance running .

Athletic career

Carton started her career in cross-country skiing and became European champion in the U23 age group in 2015. From 2015, however, she also concentrated more and more on the stadium races and won the silver medal at the 2015 European Athletics U23 Championships in the Estonian capital Tallinn .

With a new personal best in the night van de Atletiek in Heusden-Zolder , Carton was able to qualify for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she finished seventh. She also qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but there she failed to reach the semi-finals and was eliminated in the preliminary round.

For her athletic achievements, she was awarded the Golden Spike Award as a young talent in 2015.
