from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Louise Döring , also Louise Doering (in Augsburg around 1875 - after 1913), was a German singer .

Life

Louise Döring received her artistic training in Munich from Professor Günsburger. In 1898 she began working on the stage at the United Theaters in Elberfeld-Barmen , where she worked as a highly dramatic singer in the years that followed until well into the first decade of the 20th century. She had a voice with a full metallic sound and a rare range and was also interesting because of the exact performance of her roles, supported by an imposing stage appearance. Among her achievements were "Katharina" in The Taming of the Shrew , " Donna Anna ", "Rezia" in Oberon , "Elisabeth" in Tannhauser , "Brangäne" in Tristan and Isolde , "Lenore" in Fidelio , "Senta" in The Flying One Dutch , "Amelia" in a masked ball etc.

Until shortly before the beginning of the First World War , Louise Döring could still be identified in the German provinces (e.g. Ravensburg ), after which she disappeared from the public eye.
