Louise Moltke

Louise Moltke , nee Louise Drechsler , married Louise Oldenburg , ( 1808 in Karlsruhe - December 26, 1839 ) was a German theater actress .

Life

She was drawn to the stage early on. After she married the actor Oldenburg in 1826, she found her first engagement in Frankfurt an der Oder . With this company, the pretty young artist, whose game immediately found general recognition, traversed northern Germany at the side of her husband. She was particularly valued in Hamburg (directorate Friedrich Ludwig Schmidt ), where from 1828 to 1830, as a sentimental lover, she was one of the public's most spoiled favorites. In the last year she divorced her husband and in 1832 married the actor Carl Gustav Moltke , whom she met on a tour in Aachen. Soon afterwards the couple was called to Oldenburg, after the public in Düsseldorf , where the popular artist repeatedly made guest appearances for long periods, was reluctant to let her go. In Oldenburg she unfolded all her artistic skills and in the short time she was there she was the jewel of the theater. If her rich talent had found a larger setting, Moltke would certainly have been counted among the most celebrated artists of her time. Moltke died on December 26, 1839 after a severe agony.
