Louise Noëlle Gras de Mereles

Louise Noëlle Gras de Mereles (* 1944 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican art historian specializing in architecture .

biography

Gras de Mereles studied art history , first at the Universidad Iberoamericana ( BA ) and then at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México-UNAM ( MA ).

From 1976 to 1980 she published the Mexican trade journal “Arquitectura” ( German : “Architecture” ). In 1982 she was admitted to the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas of the UNAM. She lectures at several universities and has already published numerous books. Her main occupation is professor of art history at UNAM.

Gras de Mereles is active in numerous national and international associations and organizations. In 1978 she was a founding member of the International Committee of Architectural Critics ( CICA ). Since 1985 she has been a chronicler and an honorary academic member of the Mexican Academia Nacional de Arquitectura and since 1991 a member of the Academia de Artes . Since 1993 she has also been a member of the Mexican Committee for Art History ( CMAH ) and the ICOMOS Mexicano. She is Vice President of the CMAH, the national committee of the International Committee for Art History ( CIHA ). She is a professor at the International Academy of Architecture (IAA).
