Love Symphony

Love Symphony ( German : "Liebessinfonie") was the Slovenian contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 . It was composed by Andrej Babić and Aleksandar Valenčić and interpreted by Quartissimo and Martina Majerle .

It is Slovenia's first English-language entry at the Eurovision Song Contest since Anžej Dežan's Mr Nobody from 2006 and the first winner of the Slovenian preliminary decision in English ( Mr Nobody von Dežan, for example, was in Slovenian in the original version , as were all other Slovenian entries so far )

The song, the main part of which consists of background music, is about two lovers. One asks the other to imagine how they fly over the sea and how they feel free in this “love symphony”. You feel outside of space and time and forever free.

Controversy

The victory in the Slovenian national preliminary decision, the EMA 2009 , was accompanied by a lot of controversy. Quartissimo and Martina Majerle only won the final through the jury 's decision: they only got seven points from the televoting , but the jury gave them the maximum number of points, namely twelve. The favorite of the telephone vote , Zaigraj muzikant from Skupina Langa & Manca , did not receive a single point from the jury.

At the Eurovision Song Contest

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, Slovenia started in the second semifinals on May 14th with start number ten behind Denmark and ahead of Hungary, where it reached 16th place with 14 points and did not reach the final.
