Quartissimo are a Slovenian classical music group founded in 2008 .

Career

The members are Žiga Cerar , Matjaž Bogataj , Luke Dukarić and Samo Dervišić . All four are young, but very well-known and successful musicians.

In 2009 they - together with the Croatian singer Martina Majerle - successfully took part in the Slovenian preliminary decision for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest . With their title Love Symphony , they first had to compete in the semifinals. Since they convinced both the jury and the televoting , they could also compete in the final.

There they placed in front of Omar Naber , who was in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 . In a poll on esctoday.com , Quartissimo came third with 17.8% of all votes.

When voting, Quartissimo were the clear favorite with the jury, but they only came fourth in the televoting. Second place went to Omar Naber, each with eight points. But there were also serious differences between the telephoto and jury votes.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 Quartissimo appeared in the second semifinals. The band did not manage to get one of the top ten places and therefore did not qualify for the final.
