Regina (* 4. July 1965 in Murska Sobota as Irena Jalšovec ) is a Slovenian pop and rock singer .

As the child of two musicians, Irena was an active choir singer from an early age and played the electric bass and organ. In 1986 she began studying psychology at the University of Ljubljana where she met her future husband, the rock guitarist and composer Aleksander Kogoj. Their collaboration began in 1987 and they produced several sound carriers together. Under her stage name "Regina" she took part eight times in the Slovenian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest (1993, 96, 98, 01, 02, 04, 05, 16) but only once, in 1996 she won the decision. She therefore represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 in Oslo with the pop song Dan najlepših sanj and only achieved third from last place.

She is still known as a rock singer in Slovenia and has released several albums there.
