Kalamari is a Slovenian rock band founded in 1993 .

history

The band was founded in 1993 by singer Jože Jež Pepi and guitarist Matjaž Švagelj . Currently completing Boštjan Tršar and Egon Prinčič the band.

The first album was released in 1995 and is called Dobra Vila (English: beautiful fairy tale ). Two years later, S Tabo Držim (German: I am by your side ) followed their second album, with which the band achieved national fame.

The band's best- known song is V vetru rdečih zastav (German: Red flags in the wind ). With this song the band entered 1999 at the Slovenian Pop Song Festival , where the band came second. The text even received first place.

In total, the band has released 7 albums so far.

Boštjan Tršar and Egon Prinčič were not allowed to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 because the band played together with the folk music group Roka Žlindre and a total of only 6 people from one act are allowed to be on stage.

The combo was eliminated with their song Narodnozabavni Rock in the semifinals of the Song Contest.
