Alenka Gotar (* 1977 in Ljubljana , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

On February 3, 2007, Alenka Gotar won the Slovenian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song Cvet z juga ("Flower of the South"). She survived the so-called semi-finals and took 15th place in the final.

Since 2000 she has appeared regularly at the Ljubljana Opera, where she took various roles. She also appeared at the Salzburg Festival and the 2001 European Music Month in Basel.
