Roka Žlindra is a Slovenian folk music group founded in 2005 .

Founding history

The band was formed in 2005 by accordion player Rok Žlindra. The group also owes its band name to him. The group is completed by Nejc Drobnič ( acoustic guitar ), Rok Modic ( double bass ) and Barbara Ogrinc ( vocals ).

In 2008 the group only won the audience award at the 33rd International Folk Music Festival in Graška Gora . A year later, the band won the renowned Slovenian festival Polka and Waltz .

In May 2010, the group recorded together with the rock band calamari with Ensemble Roka Žlindra & calamari at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo part. However, they were eliminated in the semi-finals. Her song Narodnozabavni Rock was eliminated with the penultimate place (6 points achieved) and could only leave Michael von der Heide from Switzerland (2 points) behind.
