Low Water is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The lake is in a cirque on the north side of Coniston Old Man .
The lake has three tributaries. An unnamed tributary flows into the lake at the southern end, another unnamed tributary meets the lake on the western side. A short tributary called The Doub flows in at the northwest corner of the lake. The Low Water Beck forms the outflow of the lake at its northeast corner.
The lake was dammed with a dam in 1713 to provide energy for a quarry in the valley below the lake. However, the dam is now destroyed and the lake has returned to its original depth.
