Gregor von Fürstenberg (born November 2, 1965 in Münster ) is a German theologian and Roman Catholic theologian. He is Vice President and a member of the board of missio in Aachen . He is married and has five children.

Life

Fürstenberg comes from the Westphalian noble family of the Barons von Fürstenberg . Von Fürstenberg studied theology , philosophy , business administration and sociology in Innsbruck , Tübingen and Münster from 1987 to 1995 . In 1993 he graduated in Catholic theology and received his doctorate in sociology in 1995. In 2001 the Academy for Business Executives in Bad Harzburg awarded him a diploma in business administration.

From 1992 to 1994 von Fürstenberg was BDKJ -diocesan chairman in the diocese of Münster . He then worked for the diocese of Essen , where he supported the international Catholic mission organization missio eV as a diocesan consultant from 1995 to 1998 . Since 1999 he has been in the service of the Catholic mission organization missio in Aachen and since 2004 vice-president of the aid organization. He has taken on special responsibility for the areas of fundraising, organization, human resources and finance. On November 22, 2018, he was appointed by the Board of Directors for a fourth term.

Von Fürstenberg has been a member of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK) since 2000 . He is also a board member of the Missio eV mission science institute , board member of the pARTner foundation worldwide, managing director of the continents mission publishing house, chairman of the board of trustees of the Georges Anawati foundation and board member of the pro missio foundation and von Agora - foundation for intercultural dialogue and religion .

In addition to his position as Vice President of the International Catholic Mission Association in Aachen, von Fürstenberg taught sociology at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Aachen for several years . He is the author of specialist books and articles in the educational and theological field.
