Loxiran was a German Hardcore - Volume of Rendsburg .

history

The band existed from 1994 to 1998 and was a co-founder of the so-called Northcore movement, which stands for the DIY hardcore scene in northern Germany. The band gained popularity within the scene through their catchy New School Hardcore and their meaningful German-language lyrics. The lyrics were politically left and pro-animal rights (for example in the song Wahre Wesen ) aligned.

The demo tape "Children of the Future" released in 1996 sold out quickly. A year later, the first self-titled single followed on the Northern Germany-based music label Per Koro . In 1998, after concerts that had previously taken place sporadically, a tour through Germany took place. The pressure on the band grew along with the popularity. In the spring of 1998 a self-titled 10 " CD was recorded. There were differences within the band and so they decided to go their separate ways in the future. The farewell concert took place at a festival on July 3rd in Kassel-Immenhausen.

Further development

All band members were active in other music projects after Loxiran's dissolution:

  • Dennis Becker played in bands like Chispa and Lebensreform after Loxiran, and finally he became a guitarist for Tomte . In the meantime he was also bassist with Olli Schulz and the dog Marie , second singer and guitarist in the band marr and guitarist with Walter Schreifels . Together with Max Schröder he composed soundtracks for the films Amplifier and Sister Heart and played a small role in the film Berlin by the Sea .
  • Thomas Tröger played after Loxiran with Chispa and Just went Black . He turned down an offer to play at Tomte. He is now an osteopath in Hamburg
  • After Loxiran, Oliver Koch played in the bands Chispa , Linsay , Tomte , Enfold and marr . Koch is currently in charge of Opak magazine in Berlin.
  • Norman Kolodziej has been playing electronic music as Der Tante Renate since 2004 and electropunk with Kevin Hamann since 2007 under the name Bratze . Both acts are signed to Audiolith Records .
  • Tobias Wichura now works as an assistant director and location scout

Trivia

  • At the time of the band there was a lot of speculation about the band name. It later turned out to be based on the name of an insecticide against ants: loxiran.
  • The remainder of the first 7 "(300 copies) were later sold with so-called" rip-offs "due to a lack of covers. These consisted of 5 different covers of various well-known hardcore releases in 7" format.
