Luc Delahaye

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Luc Delahaye (* 1962 in Tours , France ) is a French photographer .

Life

Since 1989 Delahaye worked as a war photographer . For several years he was a member of the Magnum photo agency . In his publication "History" (2003) he published photos that document his departure from photojournalism . It moves in the same area as before - the trouble spots of our time in the Middle East, Palestine and Eastern Europe . But now he creates a few large-format tableaus which, in the tradition of history painting, capture a historical situation succinctly. His aesthetics remain committed to the means of photojournalism. However, starting from the moment described, the individual recording leads to an understanding of its historical significance.
