Luc Grethen

Luc Grethen (born December 1, 1964 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg musician and composer.

Life

Grethen studied composition, orchestration and conducting at the Conservatory of Luxembourg City , as well as oboe and cor anglais at the Conservatory in Strasbourg and the Conservatory in Mons in Belgium. From 1983 to 1987 he pursued further studies in musicology at the "Université des Sciences Humaines de Strasbourg", where he graduated with a master's degree in musicology.

Since 1990 he has been a lecturer in music history at the Metropolitan Conservatory in Luxembourg and since 1991 professor of music education. He composes works for chamber music as well as orchestral and vocal works. Today he is a music teacher at the Lycée Hubert Clément in Esch.
