Lucas Catarina (born August 26, 1996 in Monaco ) is a Monegasque tennis player .

Career

Catarina started playing tennis when she was nine. He has been playing professional matches since 2015 and so far mainly on the third-class ITF Future Tour . After two semi-finals in its premiere year, it was already in the top 800 of the world rankings at the end of the year . In early 2016 he was nominated for the Davis Cup for the first time . In the encounter against Latvia he won the no longer decisive match against Rūdolfs Mednis . Otherwise, his year was less successful than the previous one. An increase was achieved in 2017 and a future final was reached for the first time. In total, he won three tournaments in the future category and reached another final. Another title was added in doubles. At the end of the year, Monegasse was in 403th place in the individual ranking.

In 2018 he managed to qualify for a tournament of the higher endowed ATP Challenger Tour for the first time .
