Lucas Saatkamp (born March 6, 1986 in Colinas ) is a Brazilian volleyball player .

Career

Saatkamp first played basketball when he was at school . When his college team lost sponsorship, he switched to volleyball. In 2004 he started his professional career at Sport Club Ulbra . The following year he became world champion with the Brazilian juniors in India. In 2006, the middle blocker made his debut in the senior national team that won the world league . In 2007 Saatkamp switched to Cimed Florianópolis . With the club he won the cup and the Brazilians defended the title in the world league . In the following three years he became three times Brazilian champion with Cimed. In 2009, the national team achieved double triumphs in the World League and the South American Championship . In 2010, Brazil traveled to the World Cup in Italy as another World League winner , where it won the title by beating Cuba in the final . In 2010/11 Saatkamp played one season with Volei Futuro . With the Brazilian team he lost in the 2011 World League final , but was again South American champion. He then moved to his current club, RJX Rio de Janeiro . At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , he won the silver medal with Brazil.
