Volleyball World League 2006
The 2006 season of the World Volleyball League was the 17th edition of the competition. It started on July 14th and ended on August 27th. Brazil won the title for the sixth time.

The preliminary round ("intercontinental round") was held in four groups with four teams each. The group winners and hosts Russia qualified for the final round. In addition, the FIVB issued a wildcard . In the final round, two teams from a group of three played against each other on three days. The third team in one group met the third team in the other group. The two best teams in each final group reached the semi-finals.
