Volleyball World League 2008

The 2008 season of the World Volleyball League was the 19th edition of the competition. It started on June 13th and ended on July 27th.

mode

The preliminary round ("intercontinental round") was held in four groups with four teams each. The group winners and hosts Brazil qualified for the final round. The FIVB also issued a wildcard to Japan. In the final round, the teams were divided into two groups of three and played “everyone against everyone”. The two best teams in each final group reached the semi-finals.
