Luciano Mordasini

Luciano Mordasini ( 1928 - May 18, 2014 ) was a Swiss diplomat .

Life

Mordasini entered the diplomatic service and in 1964 became an employee for administrative matters in the Foreign Ministry, the Federal Political Department (now the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs ), and between 1967 and 1969 was Embassy Secretary at the Embassy in the Hungarian People's Republic . After other assignments, he was Counselor at the Embassy in Mexico from 1973 to 1975 and, as such, Permanent Representative of the Ambassador. During this time, he took on August 2, 1974 as charge d'affaires for the Federal Council on the inauguration of the President of the Dominican Republic Joaquín Balaguer part.

After subsequent further uses, Mordasini became ambassador to Peru on May 1, 1980, and thus successor to Henri Béglé . He stayed in this position until August 31, 1984, when he was replaced by Gérard Fonjallaz . He himself took over the post of ambassador to Egypt on October 26, 1984 as the successor to Jean Cuendet and held this office until July 22, 1988, after which Claudio Caratsch was his successor there. Most recently, on September 1, 1988, he succeeded Walter Rieser as ambassador to Tunisia . He held this office until his retirement on January 31, 1993 and was then replaced by Pierre Barraz .
