Velyka Snamjanka ( Ukrainian Велика Знам'янка ; Russian Великая Знаменка Velikaja Snamenka ) is a village in the west of the Ukrainian Oblast of Zaporizhia with about 9,000 inhabitants.
The village, founded in 1786, is located in the Kamjanka-Dniprowska district at the mouth of the 85 km long Biloserka in the Dnepr , which is dammed up to form the Kachowka reservoir .
The district center of Kamjanka-Dniprowska is located opposite the mouth of the Biloserka and can be reached via the territorial road T-08-04 after 11 km in a north-easterly direction. The Zaporizhia Oblast Center is located 135 km northeast of Velyka Znamyanka.
Velyka Snamjanka is the administrative center of the district council of the same name , to which the village Novoolexijiwka ( Новоолексіївка ⊙ ) with about 80 inhabitants belongs.
Personalities
