history

The Luckhauser Kotten was built in 1824/25 by a pair of brothers named Müller, who had previously received the license to operate as Schleifkotten on November 9, 1824. As early as 1846 the overshot water wheel and the two grinding aisles were used to operate a grain and two bone pounders. The usable gradient between the water wheel and the reservoir was only three inches , a worker was employed there at the time.

In 1853 it was officially used as a grain and fruit mill , the owner at that time was Richard Hordenbach. The last note on the use was made in 1867. Today the Luckhauser Kotten is used as a residential building. The external appearance is largely preserved in its original state.
