Bitch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The bitch called in the hunter language a dead animal for attracting predators is used. The bitch will be on a bitch space designed. In the meantime, such bitch spots are also being created by nature conservationists to feed birds, especially vultures and red kites , and predators. Dead or sick cattle that were brought to the skinner ( Schinder ) were previously referred to as Schindluder . The Schindluder was thrown on the Schindanger in earlier centuries and left to the scavengers (vultures, ravens and crows , etc.).

History of the word

The word can be found in Middle High German and in Central German dialects as luoder or lûder , where - sometimes in the masculine , sometimes in the neuter - it denotes a bait for birds in falconry :

"I screamed and let my slut run umbe [...]
dô he (the falcon) keren
when he saw the slut."

- From: The Minne Falconer

Later the technical meaning expanded to the carrion or carcass in the area of the hunter's language ; on the other hand, Luder becomes a synonym for enticing food or means in common parlance, as the following verse by Fischart from the Flöhaz of 1573 shows:

"Especially both men and women weary,
that they show us all disgrace
with leimruten and gprenten wine,
and what that kind of bum be."

More word meanings

In the German dictionary of the Brothers Grimm the following additional meanings are listed:

  • a word for useless things: "You can't write with this bitch of a pen"
  • a swear word for "sloppy woman".

The latter connotation became a popular term in various media towards the end of the 20th century for women who use their physical stimuli to attract attention, seduce prominent men and thereby accelerate their own careers. In compound words such Boxenluder , Partyluder and Promiluder it was common in the language of the media. Luderliga was voted 7th in the 2001 Word of the Year poll . In the Lexicon of Threatened Words (Rowohlt 2005, p. 124), Bodo Mrozek wrote :

"The word Luder can look back on an astonishing conceptual career in the 1990s, when the gazettes suddenly discovered a new type of woman who uses unconventional methods to seek the attention of prominent people."

Today the term is used less in the media, as the phenomenon of the party and pit slut seems to be a thing of the past. In colloquial language, however, the word slut is now part of common usage and usually has a sexual connotation.
