Luderplatz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Luderplatz is a place with a hunting facility for attracting carnivorous animals with the help of dead animals, in the hunter language called Luder .

Hunting implementation

Luring is used to observe and hunt predatory game and game birds, as far as this is released for hunting by the hunting law. Preferred animals to be attracted are the fox , but also martens and birds of prey (see below). Parts of animals (e.g. offal or break-up ), including fish, are used as attractants (opposite: " Kirrung " = use of vegetarian attractants, including eggs and cheese). Even pet food (for dogs and / or cats, canned food and dry food) is used. In Germany, the federal and state hunting laws and the meat hygiene regulations result in clear restrictions on the permitted use of sluts and what other precautions must be taken to protect people and the environment from harmful influences. It is forbidden to bring dead pets and animals for slaughter or parts of them. Only parts of healthy game are permitted. It is not permitted to create play areas in water protection areas and in areas and on paths that are regularly visited by people (paths, barbecue areas, playgrounds, sports fields, etc.).

Luder is usually buried flat or covered with stones and also with "manure" (preferably used litter for horses). The animals to be attracted should be occupied with exposing and eating the bitch for a long time and thus gain time for observation and hunting.

So-called "Luder shafts" as vertically buried pipes that are filled with Luder are no longer common. The bitch cannot be reached by the game to be attracted and the unpleasant smell is considerable.

Shelters for observing or hunting game at Luderplatz are known as Luderhütte or Luderhaus .

Further use

Meanwhile Luder places are also conservationists applied to birds , particularly vultures and red kites , and predators to feed. However, this has a counterproductive effect to any parallel deterrent measures.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, EU guidelines on hygiene have resulted in the removal of dead animals and parts thereof, with a few exceptions (hunted slut areas) being prohibited or severely restricted. This resulted e.g. B. on declines in vulture populations in Spain. Conservationists therefore put z. B. in Spain, France and Italy feeding places under veterinary control as a replacement for the former Schindanger .
