Gaifar is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Ponte de Lima in the Minho-Lima sub-region . The community had 263 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013 the parishes of Gaifar, Sandiães and Vilar das Almas were merged to form the new parish Associação de Freguesias do Vale do Neiva . Gaifar is the seat of this newly formed community.
