Ludger Horstkötter

Ludger Bernhard Horstkötter O.Praem. (Born September 16, 1939 in Duisburg ) is a German regular canon and Roman Catholic theologian . He is a member of the Premonstratensian Abbey of Hamborn .

Life

Born in 1939, Horstkötter entered the newly founded seminary of the diocese of Essen and studied theology . After his studies, the native of Hamborner joined the community of Premonstratensian Canons in his hometown in 1963 and was entrusted with postgraduate studies in the Belgian Abbey of Postel after his novitiate , which he completed with a doctorate in theology . On December 21, 1966, he was ordained a priest in the abbey church in Duisburg-Hamborn . In the following years he worked as a secondary school teacher and religious historian.

Since his retirement, in addition to his historical research on the history of the Hamborn Abbey, he has been a pastor of religious sisters.
