Ludger "Lulu" Kanders (born May 27, 1958 in Kalkar ) is a former German football player .

Career

Kanders began his career at SuS Kalkar , where he played in his youth for ten years. After another stop at Kevelaerer SV , he went to TuS Xanten . In 1978 Lulu Kanders, as he is known, made the leap into the first team, where he played one season in the top amateur class, the Oberliga Nordrhein . For the 1979/80 season Kanders went to Bundesliga club Bayer 05 Uerdingen . In his first season, Kanders scored one goal in 18 games. In the 1980/81 season he became a regular under Horst Buhtz ; he played 32 games and scored six goals.

As the successor to Klaus Allofs , who went to 1. FC Köln , Kanders came to Fortuna Düsseldorf . But he didn't really get along with the local trainer Jörg Berger . Kanders, actually a striker , should now act as a winger . Kanders only made 22 Bundesliga appearances in two seasons. Therefore, Lulu Kanders should switch to the French champions FC Metz for 1.25 million DM .

However, he refused and allowed himself to be reamateurised. In 1983 he went to SC Kleve 63 in the third highest division of the association league . After one season Kanders went to competitor Viktoria Goch . After his time at Viktoria, Kanders played for six years in Lower Saxony , including being promoted to the fifth-class state league with SV Soltau in the 1991/92 season .
