Ludolf Valke

Ludolf Valke (also known under the name Valcke ) (* in the 16th century; † 1634 ) was canon in Münster and Drost of the Rheine-Bevergern office.

Life

Origin and family

Ludolf Valke was born as the son of Caspar Valke zu Rockel and his wife Agnes von Merveldt . His brother Caspar became the owner of the house Rockel, his sister Elisabeth was abbess in pen Metelen , Agnes ∞ John of Letmathe to Langen and Johanna ∞ Dietherich Voss to Beeston.

Act

With the receipt of the tonsure on November 9, 1586, he was prepared for a spiritual life. On presentation of Turnars he was two days later the Dompräbende receive the deceased canon Goddert Raesfeld. Ludolf took possession of it on November 17 and was emancipated on June 11, 1591 after presenting a certificate from the University of Padua . On December 11, 1598, Ludolf became court junker with the Elector Ernst of Bavaria . Because of a possible collision with the requirement to be present, the cathedral chapter decided to draft a statute on how to proceed in such cases in the future. In 1604 Ludolf donated an armored statue of Charlemagne with a scepter and globe as well as his parents' coat of arms. It stood in the east transept of the cathedral in Münster . In 1611 Ludolf was appointed drosten of the Rheine-Bevergern office. He married Johanna Maria von Neuhoff on October 26, 1615. The children Stephan, ∞ Elisabeth Anna von Rhede, Jobst (cathedral provost in Minden), Maria Margaretha, ∞ Bernhard von Kerckerinck zur Borg and Adolph (capitular) emerged from the marriage.

Others

On June 9th, 1609 Ludolf and his brother Adolf became mutual heirs. Her brother Caspar, the owner of the Rockel house, had not yet resigned the two of their parents' goods. He and his sisters became heirs to the surviving brother.
